Snow in South Louisiana

Can you believe it and it was enough to make a snowman. It snowed over 3 hours! The kids liked it at first then Katie wanted to go in. But we had fun! Now it is turning into a slushy mess but we are having a fun snow day out of it.

a long time!

I just saw how long ago it was I updated!
Things are good. Jaxon turned 5 on the 3rd of Dec so I have been crazy busy with that. Not so much that day but today was his party and I made the cake - I will post picture tomorrow.
I have also been very busy with the Key fob orders - I am so excited with the number of orders I have gotten. Now I just need to keep them coming on after the holidays!
The holidays are in full swing, we had breakfast with Santa at Jaxon's school - they fed them donuts and cookies (talk about to very excited kids!)
We received our 1st Christmas presents today so they will go under the tree!
December is going to be a very happy month with all the parties with friends and family, we are so blessed to be invited to so many places.
I am very sad for Bobby and Hallie's lost of fray fray but thankful family was there to help them in the time of need!
I guess Thanksgiving is just hanging around because I am very thankful for my life and loving the Christmas joy everyone has!
Now I am off to bed the kids have school so it is a early morning for us!

Thanksgiving blessings

We had a great time today with out family at Jerry and Amanda's house. The food was great. The kids had a blast playing and running around. We shared the day with 6 kids and 13 adults. It was great! We missed Bobby, Hallie, Tommy and Maddie but we know there were surrounded with love from Hallie's family in NC.
The kids played on Claire's new car and the princess house. And we made gingerbread houses that Amanda's mom brought. The adults had a fit with them but the kids enjoyed the candy. It was a practice run for what is to come on Sunday at our Annual Ginger bread house party.

Another weekend

It is Sunday and another weekend has ended but this time we start a week off school. I think I have enough planned for the kids but we will see. This weekend was Erik's b-day and Saturday. Jaxon and Erik went to the sad LSU game but afterwards we hung out with our neighbors then ended up at our house for a night of fun on the Wii. Guitar Hero - world tour rocks after a few drinks and a few crazy people!
Sunday we had lunch at my parents house and now we are back home and I am avoiding cleaning.
Hope everyone had a great weekend!

end of the weekend

another busy one!Erik and I went to New Orleans Friday for dinner with friends and dancing. Good times!

Saturday I did a job at the Shell Fall Fest, the kids had a great time and we hung out with the same people as the night before.

Then Jaxon and Erik went to a game together. they had fun but the cold and the lack of playing on LSU's part made them leave at 1/2 time (i know they came back later in the game to win) Erik made this for his office...

Then today we saw Madagascar 2 and went to a B-day party.

Now KK is asleep on my lap and I am about to go to bed for this crazy week before the kids get out of school!

Daddy update #2

You are right you did not see # 1 that is because it went away while I was typing it - and it was long! I think laptops have a mind of their own and get rid of things at random!
Anyway - Dad is doing good. When Bobby and I left his was coming in and out of sleep and talking crazy. This was not always the case. He was fine after surgery then he ate and drank too quickly and made himself sick so they gave him a dose of fenagrin(sp?) and that was it. he started talking crazy and then fell asleep - Mom was out of the room during this so when she got back from getting her food, she was a little confused with Bobby and me laughing.
The infection was not as bad as they thought so that was good. She did drill 2 holes into his bone so for the next 2 weeks he is not allowed to put pressure on his foot - for those of you that know my dad I give him 2 days before he is going crazy.
Dad should be home tomorrow!
Thank you all for your prayers!

one of those weeks!

Have you ever had a week that was so overwhelming that you had to laugh - will this is mine and it is only Wednesday!
Monday Jaxon walked out of our house and was crying at the neighbors house for Erik at 1:30am! We think he was sleep walking then woke up while he was at Misty's house. We will never know for sure but we dead bolt the doors now and turn the alarm on so it sounds as soon as a door is opened. The Dr said he would grow out of it and just try to keep him inside away from danger!
Tuesday both kids got the flu shot
Wednesday - my dad went to the Dr and has an infection in his leg that has be cleaned, removed, what ever they do to that. They are going to do the surgery tomorrow. They are not sure what they will find when they go in so pray for the best!! He may also have a blood clot around the spot. His leg bone is fractured and the infection may or may not have entered the bone. Crazy. I know I should be worried but I don't know what to be worried about. Anyway my neighbor is going to watch the kids so I can go sit with my mom during the operation.
So we will see what tomorrow brings.
I am also going to a haunted house tonight (it has been a long time) and this one is rated #1 "The 13th Gate, in Baton Rouge, has been ranked as the #1 best haunted attraction in America by the editors of Hauntworld: the haunted attraction industry's leading trade publication and haunted house website." It better be for $20 a piece!

Don't forget to pray for my Dad!

Weekend in Texas

We had a great time in Texas this weekend. Dew Berry Farms has only gotten bigger since we were there 2 years ago. We (me and the kids and the Labauves) meet Peter and Dawn and children there. The kids had so much fun playing together. Here are a few of my favs from this weekend. I felt bad that we had to leave kinda early but the girls were done. KK was a sleep before we got out of the parking lot! It was great to see the Comeaux family even if for a short while. Erik even drove 3 hours to see the kids for about 1 1/2 hours, thank you for that the kids were happy to see you.He comes home tomorrow - yeah.

I was just playing with this one

what we have been up to

I know it is almost time for the next weekend. But things have been busy like in every ones life! Erik made it home Friday so we are all happy about that. Jaxon and him started butting heads right away! But now that he has been home a while everything is getting back to normal I think.
I worked the fair on Sunday for Jaxon's school The 1st job was great. Worked with a few good people and we talked the whole time. Learned a few things about the school that I did not know so over all that was a good 4 hours. I did get to see Jaxon fair act. They sung - Hey Hey we're the Monkeys - very cute. Jaxon even went on one of the big rides alone. It was a spinning one but I insisted he ride it and nobody else had a ride bracelet so he did it by himself. He is growing up to fast!
The next job SUCKED. It was the prize booth. The job itself was not bad, it was that they were out of everything the kids wanted! The prizes were just stuff. worthless stuff that were going to break as soon as they got home. But it made the kids happy so I guess that is what counted.

Ok back to getting KK ready for school.

Sunday

OK so I was so excited about my $40 that I forgot about today. My family got together today for my Dad's b-day we had a really good time and very little melt downs from the kids. We decided after dinner to play out side with some stuffed tigers and a parachute the kids loved it, we would make the tigers fall off and they had to get them. We hide under it and just had some good old fashion non electronic fun! Lots of laughter and the best part was all 6 kids could play!
Then Jaxon and I went to our first of many parties at Jump n Jive. I was talking to a mom and come to find out she was my student teacher in English when I was a Sr at McKinley! Thank goodness she did not remember me. It is just funny how 18 years ago she was my teacher and now we have a child in the same class. I thought she looked familiar but never in a million years would I have guessed that!

weekend fun

The weekend is over and we had a blast with this one. Friday my dad turned 61 so me and the kids spend all day with him. We helped him pick-up some of the trees from the storm. KK was so cute helping MaMere load the mini truck. We went to Chris' Speciality Meat and got the best meat and chicken. I was really happy with the food we got, I am looking forward to trying everything.

Saturday The kids and I went to see Tommy play soccer. The kids enjoyed being out side. We went to the Jr. Leagues Christmas Shopping thing and left very quickly - 4 kids and breakable things just do not mix - what were we thinking. We then went to the swamp on ULL's campus and watched the alligators, fish and turtles for a while.
Then we went and relaxed at Hallie's house. Hallie and I took the first step in our journey to the Dallas 3-day and signed up. So I am ready to fund raise $2300.00 so if anyone knows some one who wants to sponsor me or buy some of the things I am selling to raise money let me know. I am going to sell the key chains and little girl purses. I have already made $40 (actually it was $25.00 in sales and the rest was just donated) so I am really close to my goal, OK not really but I did get really excited about my first $40!! I'll post pictures soon so if you have a B-day party or a girlfriends party you need a little gift for. The key chains also make great teacher gifts!!
Once I learn more about the website I will share my site with everyone. But now it is time for bed since tomorrow starts week 3 with out Erik (hopefully he will be home Friday). I need my sleep!

We had fun watching. My mom and dad came to watch so he was excited about that. But sad that Erik missed it but happy that my mom made a DVD of it. On Thursday night we go to the awards program and get his new belt.

Things are good

People have been asking how me and the kids are doing. We are fine. Erik has already said that the project is going to take longer then 3 weeks so it is now really an open ended trip. We have not changed much of what we did before just missing one person. Oh I have not cooked a full meal but we have been eating dinner just quick things the kids like - mac and cheese for example, I think we may have Tacos tomorrow. Jaxon has gotten 3 supers this week so that has been great. He is also testing out of his white belt this Saturday and is really excited to move up to the yellow. KK loves her dance class.
The neighbors have been great - earlier this week Eric cut the grass and today he was teaching Jaxon how to golf. Misty and I have just been watching the girls fight, I mean play. We did decide to put up a gate between the 2 yards but have the handle low enough that the kids can open it.
I talked to Megan and they are doing good. Ready to come home but they still have no power thanks to IKE. They are staying at a friends house on a ranch. Today they went to a drive through animal park. They plan on coming home Saturday since the insurance guy will be there and Megan has to work on Monday.
I'll update later.

Carpool lines

Ok I have a rant and I could go on for hours about how stupid people are in the car pool lines at each of the schools I have to sit in line for!
1 - KK's MDO school has a simple map - you go in one driveway then turn down the 1st alse, then turn down the part of the parking lot that the other entrence turns in at and go around the parking lot, keeping our cars off the road where many many other people are trying to pass but instead of going to the right entrence these people have to turn in to the wrong one and block the street. Those of us that can read and follow simple direction go to the right entrence and then have to wait while those fools feel like letting us in or there line ends. Today I had one of those fool tailgate the car in front so I could not get in and we ended up in the same group for loading the kids - so why was she such a bitch and why did it bother me???
2 - Jaxon's school has a no cell phone in line rule - for the safety of the kids and teachers. People can not follow this rule and they don't even try to hide it! Once again why does that bug me? Oh because they can not follow simple rules!
3 - back to KK's school - they ask if you don't want to use the carpool line then park on the other side of the church and walk to get your child. They have stressed many many times that they did not want you to cross the line of cars by yourslef and especially with your child - saftey of the children come fisrt. Since we have been doing carpool (1 week) I have seen no less then 4 mom's a day break this rule. Now I am not saying I follow every rule out there but these are simple and some of them could use the walk from the other parking lot!
4 - Back to Jaxon's carpool drama - ok drama was too big of a word to explain but it is crazy none the less. We line up in 2 lines in the parking lot the right line turns right and the left lane turn left when you exit the school. Very simple right. Wrong once again everyday there is at least 2 cars that are in the wrong lane and if you are behind them you have to wait to see if someone in the right lane will be nice enough to let there dumb ass in. The thing that bugs me about this one is - no matter which way you turn you end up on Airline Hwy. One is a longer street but faster light other shorter street but slower light - same amount of time!!!

OK I am done. I did not go back and read this so it may sound confusing but then you would get the idea of what carpool is like!
